You don’t know Jack
(Until you read our interview with the top-ranked Wisconsin QB)
Madison, WI — The first thing Badger fans should keep in mind when considering how long it takes for a 2017 recruit to actually start making an impact is that your starting quarterback, Alex Hornibrook is a redshirt Freshman.
Coach Chryst even said in an interview that he “…wanted to make sure we had two quarterbacks who could play” going on to say, “We’re going to need both across the season.” With that in mind, getting to know Jack Coan might be a good idea considering by this time next year he might be under center for the Badgers.
According to Rivals, Jack is the 12th best pro-style quarterback in the country and the only other team in the Big 10 that’s landed a higher ranked pro-style QB was Penn State, with the Sean Clifford commitment.
While Michigan and Ohio State exclusively went after duel threat QB’s, Wisconsin was busy recruiting one of the most refined quarterbacks in the country. Coan has worked with some of the best names in football to improve his game and he can be seen pictured below with legendary QB Phil Sims.
The recruitment process was smooth because Jack already had a lot of respect for Wisconsin for both their academics as well as the athletics – not to mention how much he loved the city of Madison.
Seeing is believing and actions speak louder than words, so when Jack saw a freshman quarterback starting against Akron on one of his visits to Wisconsin he must have felt as though he’d be given the chance to make an immediate impact.
