Madison, WI— Emmett Perry is one of the best wide receivers in the country, but a lot of people are only just now learning about the Lonestar playmaker. The reason he’s one of the best-kept secrets in the recruiting class of 2017 is because he plays for a Desoto Eagles – a team so deep, it’s easy to get lost in the sea of talent.
Consider this, Emmett is the 2nd most productive receiver on his team despite having pulled in 797 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns so far this season. And he still has a few games left assuming his team can remain undefeated and continue running the table in the Texas high school playoffs.
Playing on a team like DeSoto can be a gift and curse. It’s a gift because you play on such a higher level than most high school players that you’re more prepared for college ball, but it’s a curse because you can be overlooked by scouts because of how much talent is on the field at your games.
Luckily, the Badgers didn’t overlook Mr. Perry and he’s headed to Madison in the fall where he will undoubtedly become an impact player sooner rather than later.
The DeSoto Eagles won a Texas state title this past season which means Wisconsin has officially landed a championship caliber commitment!
