South Bend, ID — Notre Dame is fully loaded in the backfield with Quarterback, Avery “Football” Davis and Halfback, CJ Holmes.  Both Holmes and Davis came out swinging on Twitter when they saw a fellow recruit de-committed to the Fighting Irish. The fans in South Bend don’t have to worry about loyalty with these two sure-fire playmakers.

This was a big week for the duo; Avery racked up 573 total yards along with 6 touchdowns on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium.  CJ Holmes, the ever elusive and multi-faceted back, spent some time interviewing with the Gazette about all things Fighting Irish and beyond.

Interview

Q: Who’s your biggest influence when it comes to football?

A: ” My biggest influence, my dad he coached me my entire youth career and instilled the mindset I have today in me many years ago, whether it’s playing through injuries, feeling that I’m the best on the field at all times, a certain level of nastiness, etc it’s all him”

Q: What made you chose Notre Dame over other schools?

A: “Notre dame is a university that is going to provide a larger opportunity off the field than it does on the field. you can’t find that everywhere.”

Q: What do you plan on majoring in at Notre Dame in the fall?

A: “Somewhere within the lines of business and management.”

Q: Who’s the best player you’ve ever played against?
A: “Christian Wilkins is the best player I ever played against”
