A different breed: Asante Samuel Jr. interview

Ft. Lauderdale, FL — Asante Samuel Jr. not only hails from the football hub of Fort Lauderdale, but he also happens to be the son of a 4x Pro Bowler.  As one of the top-ranked recruits in the class of 2018, he’s thriving at the same position his father made a living out of and he grew up playing on the unforgiving gridiron of south Florida.  And for a natural talent like Asante Samuel Jr., there’s no better place on earth for him to cultivate his God-given gifts for picks and hard hits.

According to Cleveland.com, only three states can claim to of been the incubator for over 100 active NFL players – California (187), Texas (160) and Florida (197).  If you narrow down the data to cities rather than states, you’ll notice Miami is #1 and Fort Lauderdale #2 and they’re only 30 miles apart.  It’s facts like this that make Asante so confident that he and his teammates are truly a different breed of athlete that’s a step above the rest.
