#1. Nick Saban, Alabama – $11.1m

Nick Saban has been coaching since 1973 and over the course of his career he’s won six national championships, eight conference championships and is widely regarded as the greatest college football coach of all time.

#2. Dabo Swinney, Clemson – $8.5m

Dabo Swinney was named Clemson’s interim head coach in 2008 after Tommy Bowden resigned halfway through the season.  Since taking over,  he’s led the Tigers to a 101 – 30 record, won four ACC titles and most notably – he beat Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2016 national championship game, earning Clemson their first national title since 1981.

#3. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan – $7m

Jim Harbaugh was the head coach for the San Fransisco 49ers before signing on with Michigan to become one of the highest paid coaches in college football.  It’s been rumored the Wolverines are working on a lifetime contract that would lock Harbaugh in for the rest of his career.  

#4. Urban Meyer, Ohio State – $6.4m

Urban Meyer has gone undefeated at three different schools, including Utah, Florida and Ohio State.  He’s won three national titles and six conference titles.

#5. Rich Rodriguez, Arizona – $5.6m

Rich Rodriguez has won four Big East Championships and currently has an overall record of 163-119-2
